Each summer I love going out onto the lakes of Waterton Lakes National Park and kayaking. My favourite place is Cameron Lake which is hidden away up in the mountain valleys. When the water is so calm that it looks like glass, it makes the ground totally disappear and it seems like I'm just floating in the middle of nothing. There isn't anything more peaceful than being in the middle of the lake, where all you can hear are the sounds of nature, and just enjoying the panorama around. Although the peaceful lakes are calm and serene, it is also fun to ride the bigger waves too. On the main lake in Waterton, there are ferries that go from one end of the lake to the other. They create perfect waves behind them to go and be carried along. However, you have to be careful not to fall in because of how cold it is! While Kayaking, I have been able to see some amazing wildlife (unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me on those trips). One trip with my brother we saw six black bears, two grizzly bears, and two moose. Just last summer my wife and I were out and we had the chance to see a mother black bear and her three cubs come down into the lake, bath, and then scavenge along the shore for another two hundred meters before climbing back up into the forest. It was fascinating to watch. There were some people canoeing only about four hundred meters in front of us but they just missed seeing them. The timing couldn't have been more perfect. Here are some more photos!
