Who doesn't love ice cream?! While we were down in Glacier National Park, we stopped in the village of Apgar to check it out and find some Huckleberry desserts! Huckleberries are plentiful in this area so local restaurants and stores use that as a big marketing tool. We stopped in at Eddie's Cafe & Mercantile for some Huckleberry ice cream and it was delicious!
Apgar village is on the shores of Lake McDonald. It's name derives from one of the original settlers of this area Milo Apgar. A few families built homes along the south shore intending to farm the area, but after that didn't provide many fruits and tourists started coming into the area they decided tourism was a better idea.
