About me
If you would have told me, when I was younger, that I would have become an artist, I probably would have laughed out loud. I wouldn't have believed I could have painted a scene in Paris, or the Spanish Steps in Rome. I couldn't even draw that "S" that everyone was drawing in school in the 90's. But looking back, my desire to become an artist did start more than five years ago. Growing up I always enjoyed learning new things and finding new ways to challenge myself. This ranged from learning to play the piano, to reading books, to playing sports.

When I was 19 years old I went on a mission for my church to Italy. During the time that I had free, I was able to enjoy the sites. I visited the Vatican Museum and saw Caravaggio's "The Entombment of Christ" and Michelangelo's "Last Judgement" at the Sistine Chapel. Throughout every church I visited from Rome to Taranto to

Messina there were brilliant works of art. After returning home and starting university I was ready for a new challenge. I started to remember my fascination with all of the beautiful art I saw in Italy. Needing something to do while inside during the cold, long winters of Canada, I knew painting was my next challenge.
Being a student I find painting a good way to relax and escape from the world of classes and studying. Creating new scenes with the stroke of a brush is so empowering and freeing.

Growing up my family never really did much traveling outside of the southwest part of Canada and the northwest part of the United States. After living in Italy though, my desire to travel has increased insurmountably. I have since traveled to many other places around Canada and have been back to Italy because there is just too much to see. My wife and I have our dream trips planned of which I hope we will soon be able to fulfill.
Photography has always been an interest of mine. I remember when I got my first film camera when I was ten, I would take pictures of anything I found worthy of taking a photo of (which was almost anything). Now with digital cameras my photo library has grown even more. I have enjoyed putting my photography eye to use while writing travel articles and for taking pictures that I could use for inspiration for painting.
When I'm not in school, painting, or writing blog posts, I enjoy spending time with my wife. We love going for walks, rollerblading, and going to the mountains whenever we can. I enjoy reading books and aspire to have a library in my house one day.
I hope you all enjoy my work!
